The Life of Fabric, The Life of You
(Life Design, Social Change)
■ In the End, Everything Returns to the Earth
At Ifukuto, this is a concept we hold dear in our clothing creation.
We use natural fabrics such as cotton, linen, silk, and wool.
For threads, we choose cotton or silk, and while we use elastic for the waist in some designs, we prioritize materials that can return to nature as much as possible.
■ The Joy of Nurturing Together
Linen, in particular, grows and evolves with each wash and every time it is hung to dry.
And when a garment has fulfilled its role as clothing, it can find a new purpose through upcycling.
For example, it can be transformed into a bag or cleaning cloth, and after being used, it can be cut into pieces and used for household cleaning.
Finally, when buried in the soil, it becomes food for microorganisms and eventually returns to the earth.
By creating and sustaining our way of living in this manner, we contribute to a circular way of life.
This philosophy is deeply connected to Ifukuto’s mission:
"Living kindly with cats and the Earth."
■ The Meaning of the "*" Mark
The "*" mark on our clothing carries a special meaning.
This symbol is a hand-stitched design created by AKKY, layering the letters of their name.
Each stitch is sewn with care, reflecting the intention behind Ifukuto—crafting clothing not through mass production, but with thoughtful consideration for someone.
The name "AKKY" comes from Akari Ayumu (明歩), meaning "to walk brightly."
This mark is meant to serve as a small talisman for those who wear it.
■ Walking and Changing Together
The clothes made by Ifukuto are not just clothes.
They are a step toward creating a place to belong.
When many "I"s come together, they will eventually form a "We"—a society where everyone can find their place.
Like fabric that changes over time, we hope to walk together toward change in society.
